In my opinion, The Government plans with presenting Bus Trans Lampung or we known as Rapid-transit buses (BRT) is a good anticipatory for transportation problems, especially to overcome severe traffic congestion, especially during rush hours that might come up to our city later. As we know that today the development of Bandar Lampung city is growing quite rapidly, road infrastructure improvements and regular city planning must to be done before it's too late. A good anticipation considering the number of vehicles in this city continue to rise and is not balanced with widening the road.
My friends who had used the services of the BRT’s when the trial argued that the factor of convenience and security are their main reason, then the driver is also driving regularly and not to be reckless. The Government plans to presenting BRT becomes a problem when the public minivan drivers feel that this will be affect on their minimum number of passengers. They did not disagree when the presence of BRT affect public minivan routes would be relocated to feeder routes, or secondary road. I think the driver can’t blame the government for sure because public will choose which one is better to use. If the drivers pay more attention to make the minivan passenger comfort, change the driving style and not over to modification their car etc . BRT won’t be a big deal!
In my conclusion, like the philosophy of Yin and Yang, when there are positive sides then there will be negative effects. the positive and negative sides are interconnected, they each build on each other. So, With the BRT procurement plan, the government should also think about the negative effects. Maybe with hire the minivan drivers become BRT driver. This is our task too for finding the best solution for the common good.
